The game features characters from Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, Seed, 00, and Iron-Blooded Orphans. SD Gundam most distinctive feature is the fact that the Gundams are always depicted in a super deformed fashion. Like Super Robot Wars, SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays allows the player to convince certain enemy characters to join his team. Most of the time, this is represented by being able to save sympathetic characters who were on the losing side of the conflict.
